Datalogic CEO Shares Their Secret to Success in a Tough Economy
Datalogic has continued to grow and acquire more companies despite the struggling world economy. On November 24, 2011, Datalogic CEO Mauro Sacchetto shared his wisdom on business strategy and growth on the Italian business and finance TV channel
Class CNBC. He was a guest on “The Leaders”, a program focusing on outstanding executives and managers.
Class CNBC's "The Leaders" features Mauro Sacchetto, CEO of Datalogic Group, Inc., because of his company's ability to thrive and grow in a difficult world economy.
Sacchetto emphasized the importance of continuing to invest and invent even in difficult financial times. Datalogic holds over 1000 patents, of which ~80% are brand new. Many of those patents came from acquiring other companies with new technology. Datalogic acquired two American manufacturers of Automatic Identification products in the last two months.
Sacchetto talked about the difference in marketing to emerging and non-emerging markets. The later is more stable, but doesn’t offer the same growth rate. This topic branched into a discussion on outsourcing and relocating facilities. Sacchetto said companies should “have the courage to remain what you are, with your own roots and your own values.”
The interview covered many other topics as well. Of course, the economy came up, as that is a topic on most people’s minds and Class CNBC is a financial news channel. They also discussed family owned businesses, self-check out in grocery stores, body scanners in airports, and electronic identification papers, like passports.
